Sign-up for our fundraising quiz in May

Quizzers are invited to sign-up for our second Quiz Evening to see if their team might be crowned the winners and have the chance to raise our coveted charity trophy (May, 2025).

We’re hosting the fundraising and awareness event on May 12 at Mettricks, Portswood and tickets cost £6.50 per person for quiz entry only. Food, drink and raffle tickets will be sold separately.

Support our mission

Our Chair of Trustees, Sue Hayward, who is also a Mental Health Educator and Trainer, explains: “Proceeds from our Quiz Evening will go towards helping us continue to promote Southampton Mental Health Network and our mission to make Southampton a mental health friendly city, as well as to raise awareness of our website where people can be signposted to find the help they might need.

Our second quiz

“We hosted our first fundraising quiz last summer and it was such a great success, and very popular with all those that attended, that we decided to host this second one in May and are planning another one later in the year too.

“We aim to create welcoming spaces for discussion, be understanding and supportive of those living with mental health challenges, boost wellbeing and improve knowledge and awareness in the city.”

Get your team of six together

We’re inviting keen quizzers to get together in teams of a maximum of six and to book in and come along for an enjoyable evening of quizzing, while also helping us raise invaluable funds. If you do not have a team but would still like to take part, please let us know when booking and we can introduce you to other attendees, so you can join together to make a team.

Prizes & a trophy

“The winning quiz team members will each take home a £5 CommuniBakes community bakery voucher and have the privilege of lifting our highly prized, and rather lovely, Southampton Mental Health Network trophy.

“We are very grateful to Mettricks for its support of our fundraiser. Our thanks, also, go to Barrie Worth, our quiz master.”

All the important details

Tickets for our Quiz Evening on Monday, May 12 from 8-10pm cost £6.50 per person, with all the money raised going to the charity.

Anyone wishing to have a meal from 7pm can choose from Mettricks’ menu options and pay separately for this. There will also be a licensed bar.

Raffle details

During the night, we’ll have a fundraising raffle too with a selection of prizes from businesses in the city and surrounding county. Any companies wishing to donate a prize can get in touch with our administrator via smhn@communicareinsouthampton.org.uk. All the money raised from the raffle will go to the charity.

When & where

The Quiz Evening will be held at Mettricks, which is located at 267, Portswood Road, Southampton, SO17 2LA, on Monday, May 12 from 8pm-10pm. There is free on-street parking in the area after 6pm.
