Runners raise over £2000

Runners raise more than £2,000 for Communicare at Southampton Marathon

RUNNERS who participated in the ABP Southampton Marathon on Sunday (April 7, 2024) have helped raise £2,131 plus GiftAid for a charity in the city that aims to eradicate loneliness.

The team, which even included three generations from the same family running together, took part in the 10km and half marathon races to raise awareness and funds for Communicare.

Annie Clewlow, Communicare Manager, said: “This is such a wonderful amount of money to be raised by our Communicare running team and, this year, we also had a record number of runners, 14, wearing our t-shirts or sashes too. This gave us some wonderful exposure, raising much needed awareness for us in the city too.
